The Bactrian and the dromedary camels are domesticated by humans. Camels are used by humans for carrying loads and used for general transport. they are a good source of food, they provide, milk and meat. A male camel is called a bull the female camel is called a cow and the baby camel is called a calf.
An adult male giraffe can reach a height of 5.5 meters.Males are bigger and taller than the females.A female giraffe is about 4.3 meters tall.The giraffe’s neck and legs each can be up to six feet long. The height of a giraffe helps them to reach food high up in the trees and also to keep a watch out for predators like hyenas, lions, and African wild dogs.
Wolves are predatory animals and hunt in packs a wolf pack can contain from three to twenty animals and are very good hunters. They hunt together and can bring down animals much larger then themselves, which they may not be able to if they hunted alone.
Female sheep are called Ewes, and the male sheep is called Ram, their baby shep, the newborns are called lambs, the lambs are usually are born in the spring, and are independent at birth. The young animal and the mother form strong bonds, they are able to recognize each other by their sound,(bleat/vocalization)
Dromedary camels are mainly found in warmer regions of the world, whilst the Bactrian camels are found in more colder climates. In the winter Bactrian camel grows long wooly coats to protect them from the freezing conditions and in very hot conditions they shed their wooly coat.
Giraffes are found in the savannas and open woodlands of Africa. They are herbivores, they will only eat plant-based food like leaves, flowers, fruits amongst other vegetations.when a giraffe needs to drink water, it has to bend or spread the front legs to lower itself as the neck of a giraffe is too short to get to the water on the ground. Giraffes don’t need to drink water all the time as they get most of their water from their food, they only drink water at intervals of few days.
There are several types of cows, the male is called a bull whilst a female that hasn’t given birth is called a heifer, the baby is called a calf. Cows will only produce milk once they have given birth
When cows graze, they don’t t bite the grass, instead, the cows are curling their tongues around it.When cows chew the cud the cows actually regurgitate the food that was digested partially in the stomach. They have four digestive compartments in the one stomach. Cows are actually unable to vomit or throw up.
Cattle are mainly raised for meat, milk and other dairy products such as cheese, butter, yogurt etc. Many parts of the world people still use cattle that pull carts, ploughs the land for farming, Cattle dung is used for fuel, manure and sometimes used to plaster walls mixed with mud.
Elephants with babies have help from other elephants in the herd. An elephant lives for about seventy years.Elephants are herbivores, they will only eat, grass and fruit, tree bark, bananas, peanuts and other plant-based food– they don’t eat meat.
In the social structure of wolves, the Alpha pair of wolves are the leaders in the pack the Alpha male and the female are dominant over the whole pack. The alpha pair is the only wolves in the pack that breed and give birth to puppies, and are the first ones to eat after a hunt.
Cows are intelligent and social animals they like to interact and live with herds, they are herbivores, and only eats grass, hay and plant materials, cows don’t eat meat.
